Castelnuovo del Garda is a municipal area and a town in the Verona province of the Veneto region in Italy. The area with the population of about 10,000 people is located only 12km from Verona on the coast of the famous Lake Garda. Though having a small territory Castelnuovo del Garda municipality is also divided into several frazioni, mainly villages, such as Oliosi, Sandrà, and Cavalcaselle. Castelnuovo del Garda is a very beautiful old town located on one of the most popular lakes of Italy. On the Lake Garda is also situated the residence of the Pope, but in the nearly located town. Castelnuovo del Garda is a quite old town and can boast of some historical monuments. One of the main relics of the commune is Villa Sella dating back to the XV century and to the Parish Church of XIX century with an altar-piece made by the famous Italian architect F. Brusasorci. Other popular sights are ancient Villa Arvedi D'Emilei of XVII century and a Parish Church with frescoes dating back to the XVIII century, Villa Il Soletto and the Church of Sant'Andrea. The economy of Castelnuovo del Garda is based on winemaking. There also located several theme parks with the most famous of them known as Gardaland.
